Conversational Marketing: How a Messaging Strategy Will Grow Your Business

How did your grandparents, parents, and younger siblings learn to talk about the last party? I bet they all have different answers. Do not believe me? Let's go back in time. First, we sent letters. If you think that writing a map took a long time, think about the time it took to get an answer by plane, train or pony. The 1800s brought many new technologies, including the telegraph. It may sound cool, but think about the time it took to translate the details into Morse code. I am going to give you a hint: - / - --- --- --- / .- / .- .. --- -. -. / - .. - ..-.-.- Years later, the fax machine allowed us to send messages and pictures over telephone lines. Unfortunately, the first machines cost tens of thousands of dollars and you always had to create a hard copy of your message. Then came "leave a message after the beep" ... voicemail. We all pushed back the listening of this message of 3 minutes. It's easy to ignore or it can be the beginning of an endless game of "tag" phone. After the voicemail has arrived "you have the mail." Although revolutionary, the inboxes were quickly overtaken. Your thoughtful email has been forgotten under a stack of spam and promotional messages. Then, the people who sent us the email launched AIM or IM. As the name suggests, this was the first instant messaging service. Except that your friends were not always online. Sometimes their message was set to Outkast's lyrics. Shake it as a Polaroid image, no matter who? Around the same time, SMS hit mobile phones everywhere. You can now send a message to your friend with all the essential details of the party and oemojis. Finally, we arrived at the live chat. Live chat allows instant answers. You write a quick message and see these three small dots signaling an answer. The days when we wait for weeks to hear someone are overwhelmed. With every new iteration of technology, our accepted response time has changed: friends plan faster, families stay close, and businesses provide answers instantly. In the era of live chat, customers expect conversations to happen how, when, and where they want to be. That sounds daunting, right? Do not worry; it's not as complicated as you think. Although the technology we use to communicate has changed,…

The most vital SEO strategy I've learned from a Google employee

I do not think I'm the best SEO available. And I am not the best known SEO. But when you do SEO as long as I've done it, you finally meet most of the space actors. And over the years, I have met a lot of Google employees. Some of them held high positions, others did not. Of all the Google employees I met, none of them said anything that should not be made public. And I have never put anyone in a position that could compromise their work. But what was crazy, is that the SEO tips that I received in August 2015 from a Google employee have changed my life. [19659003] And what's even more crazy is that the advice I received that day is probably known to almost all SEOs, but I bet that less than 0.01% of SEOs use this strategy . Shared knowledge that was readily available on all major search blogs, but I was too lazy to implement what I already knew. So what did I learn? Well, before you start, results from this unique SEO tactic. The reason I am doing this is that if I simply share the tactics with you, most of you will ignore it as I did it. But if I share the statistics with you first, I hope you will be more open to implementing what I am about to teach you. Here are my traffic statistics from August 2015 for NeilPatel.com: And here are my traffic statistics months after learning this new strategy: As you can see in the picture above, my traffic has increased. I went from about 100,493 unique visitors per month to 144,196 visitors. Not too bad. But here's the thing ... my traffic has naturally increased because of all my other marketing efforts. And I did not even start implementing what I learned from Google until November 28, 2015. And the results did not show up right away. It took more than a year before I really started to see growth. But once I reached the 21-month mark, things really started to skyrocket. So what was the big lesson? Well, you may be able to realize that by looking at the screen shots below. What is the big difference in the screen shots below? Here is the first extract of NeilPatel.com: And here is an excerpt from the blog KISSmetrics (which I now…
